Wet n' Wild Cosmetics Archive: 90s to 2008

This is intended to serve as a nearly complete reference page for past products Wet n' Wild has released. Some items may be lost to time... so comment on my blog profile to LMK if I missed something!

Eye Shadow Duos - Pavion Ltd.

Time to look into the very vintage products. B) Released sometime around 1991, according to the dates on these products, were the Wet 'n' Wild Eye Shadow Duos. Many color combinations were available, but no real record of them all exists.

Thankfully, I found an ebay listing with a whole bunch of shades. It doesn't look like these were named outside of their numbering, either.

Silk Finish Lipstick - Pavion Ltd.

Before today's Silk Finish Lipsticks, there were the originals made when Pavion Limited was still running the show. Vintage makeup like this is harder to find, but I spent a few hours researching (and pulling out my hair) and trying to figure out packaging iterations. Silk Finish Lipstick Packaging Variations

Source

Pavion Limited sold Wet n Wild at some point around when the curly font and black lipstick tube were used. Some lipsticks I found look like they're from the original silk finish line, but some have numbers in the 900s, which I'm assuming is a product line from the new owner based on the shade stickers.

MegaSlicks Version 1 - AM Cosmetics

These are significantly harder to track down than version 2 megaslicks! I was only able to find 3 normal shades, and 2 that appear to be special edition with abnormal numbering. I can't find a specific date, but given that Wet n Wild was purchased by AM Cosmetics in 1997 and then Markwins in 2003, these must have been produced between 1997 and 2003.

Released in 2001, only 2 shades of this bronzer were released. This product seems to have been around for a bit, but I'm unsure when it actually got discontinued.

Ultimate Touch Pressed Powders

These seem to have gone through a couple packaging iterations also... Released around 2001, these powders came in shades mostly catering to fair-skinned people. Not much record on this exists from my usual sources.

MegaFlavors and MegaFlavors Gourmet Lip Gloss

Released sometime in 2001 and later changed by Markwins (presumably) around 2003, the MegaFlavors lip glosses were flavored, potted lip glosses that came in a variety of flavors. NOTE: the glosses in the circular pots are MegaFlavors Lip Glosses, while those in the rectangular components are the gourmet glosses. According to some reviews, only about 5 or 6 flavors of the standard glosses existed (Very Cherry, Vanilla, Watermelon, Tropical Punch, Strawberry, Raspberry).

Shades: Cherry and Vanilla (circled, top left), Watermelon, (top middle), Tropical Punch (top right), Truffle (bottom left), Blue Raspberry (bottom middle), Whip'd Cream (bottom right)

Mega Brilliance Lip Gloss

Released in 2002 to AM Cosmetics, the Mega Brilliance lip gloss line featured sparkly, glittery shades that were absent from the MegaSlicks lip gloss line. Approximately 5 shades were released, with a couple stragglers. I can't find anything about the 2002 Halloween LE Mega Brilliance glosses, besides that one is deceptively red and named "Scarlet."

Silk Finish Blush

Released in 2003, the Silk Finish blushes were one of the first products released following Markwins purchase of AM Cosmetics/Wet n Wild. It looks like 6 permanent shades were released, in addition to some special editions.

Shades, L to R descending: Pearlescent Pink 831D, Berry Shimmer 835, Mellow Wine, Heather Silk 834C, Naive 836E, All Over Shimmer 832D

Shades: Coral Reef 832C, Birthday Pink 831C

Baked Earth 835C actually looks like a permanent line shade, but it took me a while to find that it exists LOL.

Silk Finish Single Eye Shadows

Released in 2003-ish by AM Cosmetics (and quickly revamped by Markwins), the Silk Finish single eye shadows were a limited line of single eye shadows, with approximately 10 shades. These shadows came in small black pot and were clear on top to display the eyeshadow. The colors/shades I could find were:

  1. Cream 251
  2. Naked 252
  3. Brassy 253
  4. Wicked 253B
  5. Plum Silva 254
  6. Tropical Sands 256
  7. Cherub 256A
  8. Blue Lagoon 257
  9. Lovely Lilac 258
  10. Sensual Sage 259
  11. Scrutinize 6473

Not Pictured: Chrome ???

Something of note here is how often the packaging for these eye shadows changes. First, AM Cosmetics decided what the product will look like. Next, Markwins takes over and only the label is updated. Then metallic font on the lids, and finally a full silver container to mark the Silk Finish Single Eye Shadow's transformation into the renamed Mega Eyes Single Eye Shadows. Some original shade names seem to have carried over, but the Mega Eyes single shadow line had waaaay more variety.
